No investigation has been opened into
the case of Cecilia Sala, the Italian journalist freed Wednesday
after three weeks in Tehran's notorious Evin Prison, ROS special
branch security police said Friday, denying media reports.
ROS investigators questioned the 29-year-old Il Foglio reporter
and Chora News podcaster for about two hours after her return to
Italy.
Sala said she had cried when she saw the sky and laughed at a
little bird's chirping during her ordeal in Evin, where she had
no mattress to sleep on nor glasses to read with, and struggled
to sleep due to a round the clock light in her solitary
confinement.
Sala was arrested three days after an Iranian engineer was
stopped at Milan airport on US charges of exporting drone parts
allegedly used to kill three US servicemen in Jordan a year ago.
