The Albanian mafia moved some 350
kilogrammes of cocaine from South America in a truck that was
seized near Brescia north of Milan in 2021, Italian police said
Tuesday.
Two Albanian clans in the area were operating the convoy, they
said.
Napoli Chief Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri, an expert on Italian
mafias, recently said the Albanian syndicate was becoming the
second most dangerous behind Calabria's 'Ndrangheta.
The police operation relied on close liaison with Albanian
security officers, police said.
