Kering and Gucci on Thursday
announced in a note the appointment of Demna - Artistic Director
of Balenciaga since 2015 - as the new Artistic Director of the
Italian maison, starting from the beginning of July 2025.
"Demna's contribution to the industry, to the Balenciaga brand
and to the Group has been exceptional - said François-Henri
Pinault, Chairman & CEO of Kering.
"His creative strength is what the Gucci brand needs now".
Demna Gvasalia, born 25 March 1981 and known mononymously as
Demna, is a Georgian fashion designer, also the co-founder of
Vetements.
