Premier Giorgia Meloni on Monday met
King Abdullah II of Jordan in Rome for talks focusing on urgent
humanitarian needs in Gaza.
A note from Palazzo Chigi reported that "the meeting focused
primarily on the situation in Gaza, where humanitarian needs
remain urgent.
In this regard - the statement reads - "the two leaders
expressed appreciation for the solid cooperation between the two
nations in humanitarian assistance, both in the framework of the
Italian Food for Gaza initiative, and with the Jordanian
initiative for an airlift, to which Italy contributed with
helicopters made available by the Ministry of Defense".
